Pregnancy Yoga in Lockdown
Lockdown has posed many issues for photographers; social distance, location – never mind whether it is actually allowed! Turns out it is, as it is work that cannot be done any other way…phew.
My yoga teacher was really keen to get a photoshoot booked in for her pregnancy yoga practice and time was of the essence, as she is herself pregnant. So what to do?
Luckily we live very close by so it was easy to book in a day that was looking good weather wise. I have an ‘office’ (more a shed) in the garden and, with a bit of furniture re-arrangement, it was transformed into a yoga space.
We had good natural light and it wasn’t too chilly for a November morning. Kaz came very well prepared, having planned what she wanted to get out of the shoot in advance, bringing props that would illustrate her business perfectly.
Working with Kaz is always an absolute pleasure. As one of her clients she has helped me go from not being able to hold a headstand for longer than five seconds, to raising my legs up into the headstand without bending them – and so much more. I have also learnt to meditate and use her teachings outside of our lessons when needed. She is so intuitive and yoga is her absolute passion. As my client the photoshoot was a joy, a lovely collaborative experience. I know Kaz will be an amazing Mother when baby arrives in the New Year.
