Why I Do What I Do!
I understand how it feels to be in front of a camera and not feel comfortable with it. I have over 15 years experience of working within a creative industry and understand that that is not everyone’s happy place. I am passionate about normalising being in front of a camera and taking away the ego. It has traditionally been a very male-centric profession and generally, we view images of women through the male gaze.
As a passionate feminist my mission is to empower women to feel (and believe) that they are enough to shine bright, that they do not need to alter themselves to be who they are. They are already awesome and that is what I am here to assist them with.
How Do I Enable This?
It really is all in the planning, my approach to working with women is to prepare using coaching, it is often the mindset that stops someone from stepping into their full potential. Our minds are powerful and if there are entrenched negative thought patterns and stories going on then no amount of lighting, outfit tweaks, make-up, etc will make a difference. Mindset coaching is the first port of call towards feeling confident and empowered for a photoshoot and from there we talk through their vision for their brand and how the images will be used from the shoot.
Why You?
I am not here to sell a dream, I am here to assist my clients in creating a visual representation of their business. I know and understand how hard it can be to feel safe to be yourself sometimes, and having a photoshoot can be a very intimidating and stressful scenario. Through my own personal experiences I can fully sympathise how the ego of others gets in the way of our own path to greatness. My ego is left firmly at home and my approach is all about nurturing, understanding and taking time so that my client can feel completely comfortable, allowing their personality and authenticity to radiate through the lens.
My photoshoot with Sarah was brilliant. I hate having my photo taken but Sarah certainly helped calm my nerves and make me feel more relaxed. The whole experience, from my initial call with her to the end results was great.
